About me
Mr.N.K.Mohamed was born in the year 1944 in Kodungallur and had his early education there itself. He did his BE Degree in Civil Engineering from Gov Engineering College, Trichur and joined Madras Service as Junior Engineer. He had a long service of 28 years in various capacities until he retired in the year 1999 as Executive Engineer, PWD. As an engineer he played a vital role in the development of many major roads in Malabar Region out of which the most important one is the widening and development of Mavoor Road now known as Indira Gandhi Road. Expertise gained by vast and extensive experience in various engineering depts. tempted him to go for construction of a hi-tech 18 storeyed Multiplex in I.G.Road, comprising of mini theaters, studio apartments, food courts, shop rooms etc., probably the only multiplex in the whole state of Kerala. He is instrumental in developing Wayanad district to a considerable extend in education and tourism scenario. . His ambitious project “KADAVU”, a 5 * luxury resort owned by Yenkay complex (P) Ltd. with unique combination of panoramic ambience and ayurveda, situated at Calicut has acclaimed the 32nd International Award for the Tourist, Hotel Industry instituted by worldwide Trade Leaders Club, Madrid, Spain. This award presented to Mr. N.K.Mohamed is for making Malabar a tourism destination in the world tourism map. This is the first time award for a Keralite in the tourism industry and also for Kerala.
He was the member of the State Planning Board, representing Tourism, having senior Government Officials as its members. He was also a member of the Health Tourism Committee constituted by the State Government. He was awarded the “Tourism Man of the Year 2002” by South Indian Tourism Promotion Council. He has also been conferred outstanding entrepreneur award in the field of Education and Tourism during Global Kerala Festival at the function held at the prestigious ‘House of Commons, London.
